PURPOSE:To provide an easy-to-operate automatic power off unit and indicating method and device therefor in which even a portable machine can be provided with a plain indication by eliminating inconvenience in the operation associated with automatic power off or travel indication. CONSTITUTION:Presence of operation input is decided at an input deciding section 12 while presence of operational execution is decided at a process execution deciding section 22. Upon decision that no operation is executed, counting of power off is continued at a timer section 18. The count is indicated on the level meter of a machine through an indication control section 16. An indication is made for 30 sec at one light emitting section on the L(left) side whereas an indication is made for one min at one light emitting section on the R(right) side. Time to be elapsed before power off can be grasped based on the number of light emitting sections. Upon counting a predetermined time, power off operation is executed through a power off control section 20. In case of travel indication, a dot row travels in loop on the level meter. The traveling direction corresponds to the operating mode. |
