There has been provided an electrical component having resistance to oxidation and wear having a copper substrate coated with a silver alloy. The silver is combined with at least one of cobalt, niobium or zirconium to increase hardness. A golf flash may be deposited on an external surface of the silver alloy coating layer to improve lubricity.
