PURPOSE:To obtain the light emitting body which can emit light uniformly, is light in weight, can be easily assembled, is small in size, and can be utilized as a light source of an image sensor by disposing a light source at the end face of a photoconductor which consists of a transparent strand-like photoconductor and has the refractive index continuously decreasing from the outer peripheral surface of the photoconductor toward the central axis. CONSTITUTION:The light source is disposed at one end of the photoconductor having the refractive index continuously decreasing from the outer peripheral surface of the photoconductor having a circular shape in section toward the central axis. N-kinds of uncured materials which have 10<3> to 10<6> poise viscosity in an uncured state so as to facilitate the characteristic control of the linear light emitting body in the uncured state and have the refractive index n of the cured materials formed by curing the uncured materials satisfying the relations n1<n2<3... nN (N<=2 integer) are prepd. as the blank material. Such uncured materials are so disposed that the refractive index gradually increases concentrically. These materials are then co-extruded to form the strand-like material. The strand-like material is subjected to a treatment to diffuse the materials between the respective adjacent layers to each other. Such strand-like material is subjected to a curing treatment, by which the linear light emitting body is produced. |
