<p>Randomly arranged and/or designed effects are produced on a yarn. The threads are fed to an effect device (22) by a delivery device at a variable delivery speed. The delivery device contains a first and a second roller (16, 18) which rotate at different circumferential speeds. A thread can be pressed selectively by pressure rollers (24, 26) against one roller (16, 18) or the other. The pressure rollers (24, 26) are each directly actuable by means of a respective lifting magnet (28, 30). The lifting magnet (28, 30) can be controlled in the push-pull mode by an electronic random-value generator (32). The second roller (18) forms part of a stepped roller (36) with rollers of different diameter, each of which interacts with a thread and a separate pressure roller controlled by a lifting magnet. …<IMAGE>… </p> |
