The invention relates to a method and a device for orienting the radiation diagram of an antenna carried by a land-based vehicle. The earth's surrounding magnetic field is used to constitute a reference orientation, and the radiation diagram direction of the antenna is slaved to this orientation. A device comprising a magnet (4) is used, for example, to detect the orientation of the magnetic field and means (2) for carrying out the said slaving.
