PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of a package, to simplify its structure and to automate optical matching by using a molded plastic material. CONSTITUTION: The package is provided with a plastic frame 12 forming a 1st recessed part 14 and a 2nd recessed part 28, an electronic component 16 having a lead wire 18 fitted in the 1st recessed part 14 and a plastic container 26 fitted in the 2nd recessed part 28 and capable of holding a pair of optical elements. Preferably a projection for fixing the component 16 in a plastic housing is formed on the inwall of the housing. Since the plastic frame 12 is used for holding the electronic component 16 and a pair of optical parts, the optical communication package capable of automatically executing alignment at the time of storing a pair of optical elements and reducing its manufacturing cost can be obtained. |
