PURPOSE:To reproduce behavior like chaos and generate a desired musical sound by providing a waveform generator which outputs a series generated by a constant dynamical system as a waveform data sequence. CONSTITUTION:The device is equipped with the waveform generator 3 which outputs the series generated by the dynamical system xn+1=f(xn) (where n=0,1,2,3,...) as the waveform data sequence. Namely, a delay circuit 1 delays an input signal (x) by the cycle of a driving clock SP and outputs the signal and a chaos arithmetic circuit 3 is a computing element which performs arithmetic based upon a specific mathematical expression (dynamical system) and uses the positive half of a secondary function represented by the expression as a folded even function. Thus, the even function is used and then a series of chaos has a plus and a minus value at intervals of a half cycle. Consequently, a musical sound which behaves like chaos corresponding to various chaos can be synthesized by the simple configuration with good reproducibility. |
