PURPOSE:To obtain with industrially advantageous way the title coloring matter useful as a nontoxic colorant for food and medical items etc. by incubating red coloring matter-productive dispersed cells in a liquid medium. CONSTITUTION:Tissue fragments obtained from a plant tissue such as of apple are put to culture under illumination in a liquid medium such as Murashige Skoog medium to induce callus. The callus is then separated from the tissue and put to subculture repeatedly into stable callus with high red coloring matter concentration. The resultant callus is similarly put to subculture pref. at a dark place to effect cell proliferation into fragile, homogeneous dispersed cells. This cell aggregate is then crushed into cell particles and put to suspension culture (pref, in a B5 medium of gamboge) followed by further subculture to collect initiation cells. The resulting cells are then incubated pref. in a HC medium under an irradiation of blue rays 220-500nm in wavelength for 5-10 days at 10-30 deg.C, squeezed etc., and then extracted with a solvent in a darkness, thus obtaining the objective coloring matter. |
