摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an overvoltage from being induced in the secondary winding without stopping a cycloconverter by connecting a rectifier in parallel with the secondary winding and the cycloconverter and short-circuiting the output of the rectifier, in step, according to the type of fault. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of a wound-rotor induction machine 1 is controlled by means of a cycloconverter 3 connected with the secondary winding. A rectifier 9A is connected in parallel with the secondary winding and the cycloconverter 3 and the output of the rectifier 9A is short-circuited through the GTO9C in an overvoltage control circuit 9, while furthermore short-circuited by means of the GTO11A in an overvoltage control circuit 11 thorugh a variable voltage suppressing circuit 11B. The overvoltage control circuit 11 operates with a first stage overvoltage and stops operation upon removal of overvoltage. The overvoltage control circuit 9 operates with a second stage overvoltage which is higher than the first stage overvoltage.
