Procedure for preparing a protein labelled with a metallic radionuclide. It involves reacting a protein with an agent to bind the radionuclide to the protein, thus forming a protein conjugate, and then complexing the radionuclide with a conjugate so formed in order to form a radionuclide complex. The binding agent consists of a thio compound of the formula Y-R-S-X, in which X, R and Y are defined as in the description, or of a cyclic condensation product of said thio compound. The protein so labelled can be used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes in the treatment of tumours.
