PURPOSE: To rapidly bond a reinforcement member to an FRP vehicle body exterior member by interposing an uncured thermosetting welding adhesive between bonding surfaces of a cured FRP component and the member, disposing the assembly between two electrodes, and applying a high frequency signal. CONSTITUTION: A sheath member 12 is an FRP product such as a bonnet, a roof or other automotive exterior vehicle body panel. And, a reinforcement member 14 is similarly made of the FRP product. After a flange 18 is coated with an adhesive 22, the member 14 is disposed upside down, and placed on n inner surface of the member 12. An assembly having a nest 20 and an electrode plate 30 is driven by a hydraulic piston 32. After an assembly 10 having a sheath ember, an adhesive and a reinforcement member is disposed on the nest 20, the piston 32 is operated to rise the nest, thereby floating the member 22 in the nest 20. And, a high frequency electrostatic field is formed between an electrode assembly 36 and a lower electrode plate 30, thereby obtaining a good adhesive strength. |
