The valve (1) has an operating element with a first section (11) opposite a slide (3) and passing through a toroidal coil (6). This section is nonmagnetic and is connected to a second section (12) which acts as magnetic return and faces away from the slide (3) and passes at least partly through the toroidal coil (6). The coil has a screen (24) restricting stray magnetic fields and screening the lines (21-23) of the hydraulic medium from the coil. The first section and are one piece. The slide's casing (2), the slide (3) and the first section have the same coefficient of thermal expansion. The two sections are releasably or permanently connected together. ADVANTAGE - Reliable.
