A thermometer for continuous measurement comprises a casing 1 containing a temperature sensor 3, at least one audible or light-emitting alarm indicator 6, 7 and/or an alphanumeric display screen 5, and electronic means 4 for processing the signal produced by the sensor 3 in order to control the display or the emission of at least one piece of information which is a function of the signal produced. The casing is designed to be attached to the wrist of the user by means of a bracelet (strap) 2, the temperature sensor 3 then being in contact with the skin of the patient. This thermometer, which emits an alarm when a predetermined threshold temperature is reached and/or continuously gives the temperature of the user, allows effective monitoring and detecting of illnesses which are accompanied by an increase in temperature. <IMAGE>
