The invention relates to a method and to a device for suppressing jammers in the field of view of a location apparatus (1) which is used for the command guidance of missiles and whose field of view is limited to a window surrounding the missile. In order to suppress the jamming of the missile guidance even when a jammer enters the limited field of view of the location apparatus (1), the guidance commands for the missile are produced, according to the invention, using estimated values for the offset ( epsilon ) of the missile with respect to the optical axis of the location apparatus (1). Expected values are formed for the observable measurement variables of the missile, especially the offset or the change with time of this offset, and said expected values are compared with corresponding measured values. If these measured values are within a tolerance band about the expected values, then the calculation of the estimated values for the offset of the missile is assisted by the measured offset, but if the measured values are outside the tolerance band, then the assistance is interrupted.
