摘要 To dispense with the so-called analog adjustment of a compass by comparison between the measuring point of the compass and a graduated rule and to enable the compass to be adjusted by electronic means, one of the branches (10, 20) or one of the supporting parts (11, 21) of the compas has a distance-measuring arrangement (22; 122; 222) which determines its distance from a reference measuring surface (23; 123; 223) situated on the opposing branch (10, 20) or supporting part (11, 21). This distance-measuring arrangement automatically determines the distance between two supporting parts. The measured distance (1) between the distance-measuring arrangement and the reference measuring surface corresponds, allowance being made for a given basic difference, to the distance between the stationary point and the tracing point of the compass. For industrial application, the distance-measuring arrangement can, for example, be provided with a memory in which given adjustment values can be stored. When the compass is to be adjusted according to a certain value, a display for an optical or acoustic signal indicating optimal adjustment of the compass according to the stored value can also be provided.
