A corner gear (26) can be attached to the outside of the housing (12) of a headlight. It has a shaft (29) which can be actuated from the front of the motor vehicle and is in engagement with a ring gear (25) via an intermediate wheel (36). Said ring gear is part of a rotary knob (24) which is attached to an adjustment screw (12) and protrudes over the rear of the housing (12). By means of a tool which can be inserted from the front of the vehicle body (10), the corner gear (26) can be actuated and as a result the reflector which interacts with the adjustment screw (19) can be swivelled in its horizontal or vertical direction. <IMAGE>
