PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced image of high resolution and sound signal of high fidelity with a disk-shaped recording medium by recording the video and the digital signal of voice by a change in the direction along the tracks of spiral intermittent recording and the direction perpendicular thereto. CONSTITUTION:The spiral recording tracks are formed in a recording region 35 of an optical video disk by intermittent recording traces 34 consisting of pit arrays. These recording traces 34 have the change according to the composite FM video signal, i.e., the change in the size and intervals of the pits in the TR direction along the tracks. The traces have the forward and backward displacements, i.e., level changes, with a slight deviation amt. according to the digital sound signal in the direction RD perpendicular to the direction TR. The need for narrowing the band of the video signal and the cancellation of the higher harmonic component of the beat of the color signal and brightness signal is eliminated and the recording is possible without having the mutual interference between the video and sound signals according to this system. The reproduction of the high image quality and the high fidelity voice is thereby enabled. |
