Polymers of the formula <CHEM> where R is hydrogen or alkyl, X is alkylene, R1 represents the atoms to complete a heterocyclic ring, M is the residue of a comonomer, E min and E sec are end-groups and m and n are the mole-fractions of monomer units, are used together with a sensitising dye as a polymerisation initiating combination.
