PURPOSE:To decide whether it is allowed to set (display) a registered character- string on the present cursor position or not, by checking the coincidence of a character attribute of a refresh memory being an input area, and a character attribute which is defined at every key. CONSTITUTION:When a character data is sent through a host interface 1 from a host, a character attribute and a character code pattern are generated, and written in a refresh memory 5. On the other hand, in a display character-string accumulation memory 10, a character-string and a character attribute are stored in accordance with a key of a keyboard, by a command from the host. In this state, when a cursor is moved to a head position of an input area of an object in order to set (display) a defined character-string, and the key is depressed, if a character attribute of the defined character-string of its key stored in the memory 10 by a control processor 3, and a character attribute of the present cursor position stored in the memory 5 coincide with each other, the defined character-string corresponding to the key is written in the memory 5.
