PURPOSE:To restrain the variation of working requirements and improve the accuracy of working by measuring the rotational speed of a spindle rotating inertially with a tachometer, generating the output of rotational speed signal at the same time and decelerating a feed drive device according to the deceleration of spindle under working with a feed controller. CONSTITUTION:A saddle 6 is quickly fed right before a diamond tool 9 attached to a tool rest 8 gives a predetermined cut to a workpiece 4. Then, the power source of a built-in motor 3 is turned off to rotate a spindle 2 inertially and immediately change over the saddle 6 to cutting feed. And the rotation of spindle 2 is detected by a tachometer 5 and the rotational speed signal output of spindle 2 is sent to the input of a NC device 14 which generates the output of a predetermined proper feed speed signal according to the rotational speed of the tool 9. And the saddle 6, i.e. the tool 9 is subjected to cutting feed through a drive unit 15 with speed corresponding to the rotation of spindle 2, so that the motor is free from vibration and the working accuracy is improved.
