PURPOSE:To prevent the cooling and solidification of a molten metal in the process of pulverization and the consequent failure in the pulverization by heating a crucible for housing the molten metal from the inside and outside and heating a nozzle for discharging the molten metal and the stopper thereof by electric heating at the time of blowing the molten metal by an inert gas and pulverizing the same. CONSTITUTION:The metal to be pulverized is melted in a high-frequency induction furnace 5 in a melting chamber 1. A tundish 6 is placed in the chamber 1 and the crucible 8 made of refractories such as magnesia is disposed therein. The inside wall of the crucible 8 and the alumina stopper 10 for closing the tap hole of the crucible B are heated by a bar-shaped electrical heater 14. The outside periphery of the crucible 8 and the circumference of the nozzle 9 for tapping are preheated by electrical heaters 16, 17. The heater 14 is pulled up to the outside of a tundish by a lifting device 15 when the inside of the crucible 8 is heated to the prescribed temp. While the inert gas such as N is injected to the outlet of the nozzle 9 by a piping 12, the molten metal in the furnace 5 is poured into the crucible 8. The molten metal flows out of the nozzle 9 and the inert gas is blown from an atomizing nozzle 11, by which the molten metal is produced and stored into an atomizing tank 3.
