There is described essentially a process for the systemic prevention of re-infestation of dogs and cats with fleas, characterised in that a substance which inhibits flea development is administered to the host animal in question orally, parenterally or in the form of an implant, in such an amount that a larvicidal or ovicidal action is achieved against fleas, the active substance to be administered preferably being… a) a juvenile hormone or a juvenile-hormone-like substance,… b) a benzoylurea derivative which inhibits flea development or… c) a triazine derivative which inhibits flea development. |
