PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in sealing capability caused by heat deformation by covering the surface, facing a stack, of a manifold mounted on the side of a fuel cell stack with alpha-alumina, and covering it with beat resistant and corrosion resistant resin. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of cells comprising a cathode plate, an anode plate, and an electrolyte matrix which is placed between both plates are stacked, and a manifold 14 which supplies and exhausts a fuel gas and the air is mounted on the side of the stack. The manifold 14 is made of aluminium alloy, and its surface facing the stack is covered with an alpha-alumina film 20. In addition, the surface is covered with heat resistant and corrosion resistant resin 22 such as fluorine resin to cover pin holes 21 of the alumina film 20. By high insulating, heat resistant, and corrosion resistant capability of the alpha-alumina film 20, an insulating plate to be interposed can be eliminated and deterioration in sealing capability caused by heat deformation can be prevented. |
