PURPOSE:To provide an increased life for a blade, by a method wherein, in a cutting position, a steel plate is curved by a press roll, the end surface of the curved part is cut, and the contact area of one blade is increased. CONSTITUTION:Support rolls 4 and 5 are situated before and after a cutting position C, and a steel plate P is curved downward by means of a press roll 6 situated between support rolls 4 and 5. The end surface of the steel plate P of a curved part 7 is cut by means of a milling cutter 1. Thus, a contact area B of one blade of the cutter with a cutting region area A is extremely increased, and the life of a blade is improved. Further, curving causes improvement of rigidity of the steel plate P in the cutting position C, and enables execution of stable cutting.
