An imitation lighted candle includes a candle body (23) accommodating an electromagnet (25) which is periodically activated by a unit (27) which periodically leads current to the electromagnet (25) from a current source. Conductors (30), which are connectable to the current source, extend to the upper edge of a tubular upper portion of the body (23). A plug (50) is removably placed on the upper part of the body (23). A pendulum (10, 7, 18) is pivotally suspended on the plug via flexible electrical conductors (45), extending through the pendulum up to a lamp holder (7), which receives a filament lamp (1), the contact pins (4) of which are in contact with the electrical conductors (30) extending through the pendulum tube (10). Both conductor portions (45) extend in substantially opposing directions from the pendulum tube (10) in a plane through the axis of the pendulum. The conductor portions (45) are connected to the radially outward portions of the plug (50), and come into electrical contact with the conductor portions (30) in the body (23) when the plug (50) is placed on the body (23) and has the right angular position relative thereto. The lower part of the pendulum is provided with a bob (18) including a permanent magnet (21) which is actuated by the electromagnet (25). The pendulum oscillates about an axis at right angles to the pendulum axis, and the conductor portions (45) constituting the suspension of the pendulum have low bending and torsional resistance. |
