NEW MATERIAL:A benzodioxane derivative of formula I (R1 is CHO, group of formula II-VI, etc.; R2-R4 are 1-5C alkyl or phenyl; R5 and R6 are H or OCH3). EXAMPLE:2-(1', 3'-Benzodioxazol-5'-yl)-6-formyl-7-methoxy-3-methoxy-methyl-1,4- benzodioxane. USE:An intermediate capable of economically synthesizing a natural insecticidal compound haedoxanes useful as an insecticide against vermin of paddy field, plowed field, orchard and forest and environmental hygienic vermin. PREPARATION:The exemplified compound can be produced either by reacting the compound of formula VII with mono or dimethylformamide in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride, etc., or by reacting with hexamethylenetetramine in the presence of acetic acid, etc., and then hydrolyzing the resultant Schiff base with an acid. The above insecticidal compound can be synthesized from the exemplified compound in high efficiency through another compound of formula I. |
