发明名称 FUEL CELL
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a fuel cell with increased life and high reliability by stacking together cell units each made by closely unifying together a positive and a negative electrode each consisting of a porous carbon plate through a matrix layer containing a liquid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Each laminated element consists of a first layer 16 consisting of a porous carbon plate containing electrolyte and having grooves on its one surface, and a gas-impermeable conductive second layer consisting of a smooth carbon plate. Each cell unit 18 is made by closely unifying together a negative electrode 21, consisting of a porous carbon plate 20 having negative active material supply grooves on its one surface and carrying a catalyst layer 19 for accelerating electrode reaction on the other surface, and a positive electrode 24, made by forming a catalyst layer 23 on one surface of a planar porous water-repellent carbon plate 22 in which a positive active material such as air easily diffuses, through a matrix layer 25 containing a liquid electrolyte. Hydrogen is used as the negative active material and air is used as the positive active material. Deviation for the average voltage of this fuel cell is 3% for 1,000hr operation and 5% for 5,000hr operation.
