PURPOSE:To keep an optimum phase relation between a read horizontal synchronizing signal and a read subcarrier signal so as not to be lost by adjusting the phase of a timer output when the phase is changed as required by a phase operating means. CONSTITUTION:When phase operating means 16, 15, 35, 34, 44, 45 are operated in a read start pulse generating circuit 7 having a color subcarrier synchronizing with an automatic phase control circuit 7B generating a read start pulse signal RZERO synchronizing with a read subcarrier signal RSC, the relation of phase between the signals HSYNC and RSC tends to be shifted from the optimum phase relation. An adjusting signal CON obtained from a horizontal synchronizing phase adjuster 16, the subcarrier phase adjuster 35 of a phase signal forming circuit 7A and the hue adjuster 44 of a read signal forming circuit 7D is fed to a phase adjusting signal generating circuit 66 to adjust the phase of a timer output MODH by a phase adjusting emans 24 thereby cancelling the deviation from the optimum phase relation.
