ALUMINUM ALLOY HAVING SUPERIOR PITTING CORROSION RESISTANCE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an Al alloy having superior pitting corrosion resistance in a corrosive environment contg. water by adding specified amounts of Mn and Cr to Al or further adding Cu and/or Mg. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy is obtd. by adding 0.5-1.5wt% Mn and 0.05- 0.5wt% Cr to Al or further adding <0.3wt% Cu and/or 0.2-2.5wt% Mg. The amount of Mn added is regulated in relation to the amount of Fe contained in the Al alloy as an impurity so as to satisfy Mn/Fe>=5. The Al alloy has remarkably superior pitting corrosion resistance in a corrosive environment contg. water.
