PURPOSE:The titled emulsion that contains gefarnate, thus showing marked increased medicinal effect and permitting oral administration. CONSTITUTION:Gefarnate is included in a lipid emulsion in a concentration of 0.1-500mg/ml, preferably 5-400mg/ml. Thus, the emulsion inhibits the hydrolysis of gefarnate in digestive tracts to promote its absorption, resulting in marked increase in medicinal effect. The lipid emulsion is mainly composed of 1-50W/W% of hydrophobic substances, 0.1-10W/W% of an emulsifier such as phospholipid or surfactant and an appropriate amount of water. The vegetable oil which can be used as a hydrophobic substance is, e.g., soybean, sesami and olive oil. The dose is 10-300mg/day as gefarnate and it is given in portions twice or thrice a day. USE:A promised ulcer remedy, because it has action to improve a variety of symptoms caused by digestive ulcers.
