The corrugated cardboard blank for packaging cuboid articles, e.g. books, consists of a rectangular central part (10) as the basic area, opposite flaps (12, 14) adjoining said central part along fold edges, and an adjoining inner lid (16) and an adjoining outer lid (18). The latter is connected via fold edges to side parts (20, 22) which, in turn, are connected via narrow, easily separable webs (28, 30) to the respective adjacent flaps (12, 14). The inner lid (16) of the single-layer blank is shortened in width at its free end (32). <IMAGE>
