PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously control the advance and backward running of a vehicle with no gear mechanism being used, by providing such an arrangement that a drive side pulley is formed as a speed change pulley whose V-groove is variable in its width, and as well a reverse-rotation V- grooved pulley is disconnectably arranged in opposite to the movable pulley piece of the speed change pulley through the intermediary of friction plates. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a speed change pulley consisting of a stationary pulley piece 1 secured to a shaft S and a movable pulley piece 2 slidably set on the boss part 1a of the stationary pulley 1. A bearing 6 is disposed in the bottom of a V-shape groove difined between both pulley pieces 1, 2. The movable pulley piece 2 is urged to the left by a spring 7 disposed between itself and a stopper 8, and may be axially moved by a grooved cylinder 3 which is provided to the boss part 2a of the movable pulley piece 2 by means of a bearing 4. Further, a friction plate 9 and a reverse-rotation V-grooved pulley 16 are provided to the extension of the boss part 1a by means of bearings 11, 15 to move the movable pulley piece 2 rightward for engaging friction plates 5, 8 together, thereby the V-grooved pulley 16 may be rotated by means of a gear 13, etc.
