PURPOSE:To improve the arithmetic precision of arithmetic processing by multiplying a multiplicand by the power constant of ''2'' previously and the processing the product, and dividing the quotient by the power constant of ''2''. CONSTITUTION:A constant generating circuit 1 generates a multiplier n/m in B=AXn/m by specifying it (c) and inputs the mutiplier to an arithmetic circuit 3. A register circuit 2 consists of a register RA stored with the multiplicand A and its working register RB, and register QA stored with its quotient B and its working regiter QB. The working registers RB and QB are stored with powers l=2<k> (k=1, 2...). The circuit 2 operates by selecting the respective registers (s) and its contents are inputted to the circuit 3 together with n/m. The circuit 3 performs specific arithmetic by arithmetic specification (a). A carry circuit 4 sets a carry signal to 1 when the arithmetic result has a carry or to 0 when not. |
