Proceeding from a circuit arrangement having a forward amplifier to the output side of which a transformer is connected, in order to reduce the distortion factor of the transformer, a forward amplifier (V) having a positive-feedback impedance (Z2) and negative feedback with an intermediate impedance (Z3) and having an input impedance (Z1) which is connected on the input side to the input of the forward amplifier is provided, devices to provide gain in the positive feedback and in the negative feedback being dispensed with, and either the input impedance (Z1) or the intermediate impedance (Z3) having a component which is positive and rises linearly with the frequency, within the transmission frequency band, and the remainder of the said impedances in each case being largely resistive. <IMAGE>
