PURPOSE:To execute efficiently re-recognition processing by the same procedures and contents as the first time, and to execute easily the re-recognition processing, by referring to a deciding table in accordance with a result of recognition of the first time, executing a balance adjustment, etc., and re-normalizing a pattern. CONSTITUTION:Informtion read from a photoelectric converting element 1 is processed by a pre-processing part 2, and binary-coding, a noise cut, and segmenting of one character are executed. This processed character pattern is converted to a normalized pattern of fixed size by a normalizing circuit 3, and a feature train of the normalized pattern is extracted by a feature extracting part 4. This feature train is compared with a standard feature train from a standard feature train 6 by a deciding part 5, and a candidate character is selected in order of a degree of similarity. From the candidate characters of the first place and the second place, a candidate character which becomes an answer is outputted from an output deciding part 7, and is outputted to an outputting circuit 8 through a switching part 12. In this way, the re-recognition processing is executed efficiently by the same processing procedures and contents as the first time. |
