PURPOSE:To improve the using efficiency of a photodetecting surface and to attain high density for an electric charge implanting device, by using non-selected belt-shape column electrodes adjacent to both sides of a selected belt-shape column electrode in common for separation of a picture element column in the column direction. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge produced by light made incident through a light transmitting window 2 of a column electrode C5 is stored in each well right under the electrode C5. This electric charge receives an access successively from row electrodes R1 through Rn in a short time DELTAt. Therefore voltages ER1-ERn delivered successively from a voltage output terminal of a horizontal shift register are impressed successively to the electrodes R1-Rn. As a result, the picture elements which are arranged lengthwise along the electrode C5 receive accesses from the right to the left. In such a way, the areas right under two electrode adjacent to a column electrode are set under a cumulative state and function as charge dams in case an access is given to a column electrode. |
