<p>The collector pouch is for post-operative use by colostomy and ileostomy patients. It is flexible and flat when empty and made of sound absorbing plastic. It comprises two welded walls and is rectangular with rounded corners. It has a reinforced adhesive fixing portion, an inlet port connected to the artificial intestinal aperture and an upper vent. It is divided by weld lines into a contral inlet section with a relatively wide passage (4), a collector vessel (11) at the bottom, a pair of peripheral passages (14,16), and an emergency chamber (20) connected to the passages.</p> |
