Metal toothed-belt wheel, in particular toothed-belt pinion for driving the valve timing belt mechanism at the crankshaft of internal combustion engines. A metal toothed-belt pinion (4) is centred on a shaft stub (1) of a crankshaft (2) and, to transmit the drive, is clamped axially against a shoulder (5) of the crankshaft (2). In order to inhibit the heat flow within the toothed-belt pinion (4), the wall thickness of an annular web (11) of the latter between a hub (7) and a toothed rim (8) is so small due to an annular space (6) that essentially only the maximum torque occurring is transmissible. Arranged in the annular space (6) is a supporting ring (12) formed from thermally insulating material, by which the hub (7) and the toothed rim (8) are supported in a dimensionally rigid manner relative to one another. <IMAGE>
