Bird and animal scaring gun using gas explosions - uses two explosion chambers ignited one after other by piezo-electric ignition of gas in chamber

The bird and animal scaring device uses an explosive detonation to scare birds and animals away from crops. The scarer is mounted on a tripod so that it is free to rotate about the vertical axis, and has two explosion chambers (30,33) with an amplifying horn (24,31) extending the chambers. A gas cylinder (14) provides the fuel. Each explosion chamber is linked to an automatically closing valve connected to a variable volume chamber (35) having a flexible wall (46) which presses against a control rod (48). The rod (48) acts on an over-centre mechanism (69,73) to open the gas valve (40), and also on a hammer (62) which strikes a piezo-electric impulse generator (63) used to ignite the gas. A similar mechanism is fitted in the second chamber and is set to ignite the second chamber before the first chamber.
