The invention relates to a lampshade which can be folded up, consisting of frame parts with coating, the individual elements of which lampshade cannot be connected together and the sheath or coating of which consists of plastic injected onto the frame. The manufacturing process consists in the elements being centrally arranged on a holding device, consisting of a spindle with hubs and spokes, in the case of large distances between the elements, these are spanned by means of filaments, binding wires, spiral springs, rubber bands or the like, the thus obtained frame then being spray-coated with liquid plastic and then the filaments, binding wires, spiral springs, rubber bands or the like being removed by pulling out. Because of the fact that no braces are provided between the elements of the frame, the shade can be folded up and as a result of the use of spray-on liquid plastic all conceivable forms of lampshades can be manufactured without the coating material warping or bagging.
