The invention relates to a method for erecting prefabricated residential buildings having a hip roof-like roof construction. Provided underneath the roof construction of one building unit is a storey unit having a foundation unit and a wall unit erected on the latter. The roof construction, consisting of a hip roof-like roof edge and a lantern-like structure mounted on the latter in the centre, is erected on the storey unit. For the erection of the roof construction, firstly four beam-like roof supports are connected at their lower ends to the upper end of the storey unit and then are connected to one another at their upper ends. Then, the roof edge is placed onto the supports and finally the prefabricated roof structure is mounted and connected to the supports.
