PURPOSE:To prevent any self discharge of a metal-halogen secondary battery by providing a filter in the lower part of an electrolyte storage tank, through which the electrolyte is enabled to circulate. CONSTITUTION:A storage tank 2, which is a bromine-side electrolyte storage tank, and contains an electrolyte 8 that is added with a complex forming agent made up of a tertiary amine for the prevention of the self discharge or the like, is used for a metal-halogen secondary battery or a zinc-bromine secondary battery, in which the electrolyte 8 circulates. A filter 7, which is made of glass fiber, is provided over the inner bottom of the tank 2 so that the electrolyte 8 is sent out through the filter 7. Owing to the filter 7, the contact area between the electrolyte 8 and a complex forming agent layer 6 is increased, and bromine is efficiently converted into a bromine complex compound. Besides, the bromine complex compound formed is prevented from passing through the filter 7. |
