The oven has a microwave generator supplying energy to the oven chamber via a waveguide. Outside the oven chamber is mounted a drive for a rotary aerial, with loosely coupled aerial shaft with a section inside the oven chamber at an angle to the shaft. The vertically balanced, pref. T-shaped aerial (20) is suspended with its shaft (21) from a bearing element mounted outside the oven chamber. Pref. the bearing element si in the form of a stationary bearing bush, secured withone front side to the waveguide (18), while the other front side forms a slide surface for a bearing portion of the aerial shaft, which has an annular bearing surface. The bearing bush may be secured on the upper boundary wall of the waveguide above the oven chamber, outside the waveguide. The aerial shaft and the drive shaft (4) are aligned, the drive shaft carrying a coupling via bracket.
