Electrodes

Electrodes comprising a carrier composed of an electrically conducting material and an active layer applied thereto contain nickel and/or cobalt in the active layer in addition to iron. The nickel and/or cobalt content should be 10 to 20 % by weight. The electrodes are suitable, in particular, as cathodes for alkali-chlorine (chlor-alkali) electrolysis cells.
