PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a refractory for casting long in service life, excellent in anti-spalling property, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance and capable of extremely preventing destabilizing phenomenon by suppressing the flow-out of CaO being a stabilizing agent. SOLUTION: This refractory for casting is produced from a raw material prepared by adding 1-30wt.%, by external percentage, at least one kind of boron carbide, boron nitride, metal silicon, alumina and metal aluminum (where, sum of metal silicon and metal aluminum is <=10wt.%) into 30-70wt.% stabilized pr partially stabilized ZrO2 raw material, 5-30wt.% unstabilized ZrO2 raw material having <=75μm average particle diameter and 10-40wt.% graphite. The refractory is produced by mixing the raw material, forming it into a prescribed shape and firing at 800-1200 deg.C in a reducing atmosphere. |
