<p>A dispersion of a finely divided solid in a liq. carrier is maintained in suspension during and/or prior to blending with other liq. by passage through a vessel into which the suspension is introduced via a low level jets aligned to produce a stirring action. The suspension is simultaneously aerated, so that bubble action enhances agitation at the upper levels of the liq. in the vessel. Esp. suitable for providing pigmented water for blending with other constituent streams for making coloured plaster or cement. Maintains suspension without involving mechanical stirrers and associated motors.</p> |
