<p>The TV viewing screen is composed of a transparent mirror which is 6mm thick and covered on its rear face with three luminous colour layers respectively red, blue and green. A colour (or black and white) image tube is secured to the back of the screen and coupled to the colour layer, through optical fibres which transmit the image on the tube to the screen. The tube has a diameter of 2.5cm. The advantages of the screen are minimal thickness, ease of transport and wall mounting with low manufacturing costs. Its weight is typically 8Kg. The screen also provides a relief or three dimensional image effect.</p> |
