The additional jaw is for use with a screw-type machine vice. There are several clamping strips on the fixed jaw and the slide working with the guide to guide and support the additional jaws. One or more permanent magnets (16) are built into the jaws (11). The magnets can be a close fit in the jaws with their outer surfaces being flush with the rear face of the jaw. The design avoids the formation of a gap between the additional jaw and the main one and consequent penetration of dirt between them.
