PURPOSE:To provide a copying device capable of copying at a high speed and at a low cost by effectively combining a charging-and-deflection type ink jet recorder and the latent image process of the carlson copying system. CONSTITUTION:The optical image of a copy 20 is projected through optical systems 21-24 onto a photosensitive body 25 being rotated in the direction of the arrow so as to form an electrostatic latent image, which is used instead of the charging electrode used in the conventional charging-and-deflection type ink jet recorder. In other words, the ink droplets jetted from the main body 1 of an ink head are charged by the surface potential present at the image area on the photosensitive body 25, then they are deflected while passing between deflecting electrodes 7a, 7b and reach to a recording paper 9, producing a record in situ. The ink droplets corresponding to the nonimage area on the photosensitive body 25 are not charged, so that they are trapped by a gutter 8 and recovered into an ink tank 12 in the same manner as in the conventioanl system. |
