Solar heater comprises an insulating base e.g. a polyurethane foam base, and a transparent cover, e.g. of laminated glass, between which a medium to be heated, e.g. water, is conveyed. Water is conveyed inside a tube, suitably of dimensionally stable silicone, in contact with a heat-conductive material such as a metal (alloy) e.g. an Al-netting with heat-conductivity value over 50 W/mK. The base has a heat-transmission value of 10 W/m2K.
